And they that know Thy name
Will put their trust in Thee:
For thou, Lord,
Has not forsaken them that seek Thee. ~Psalm 9:10
"Fellowship with Christ is so honorable a thing that it is worthwhile to suffer, that we may thereby enjoy it. To die with Jesus makes death a perfect treasure; to be a follower in the grave with Him makes death a pleasure. Moreover you and I might be taken for cowards, although we may have fellowship with Him in His glory, if we had no scars to prove the sufferings we had passed through and the wounds we had received for His name. Thus again you see it is for our good to be here; we should not have known fellowship with the Savior if we had not stayed here a little while. I should never have known the Savior's love half as much if I had not been in the storms of affliction. How sweet it is to learn the Savior's love when nobody else loves us! When friends flee, what a blessed thing it is to see that the Savior does not forsake us but still keeps us and holds us fast and clings to us and will not let us go."

Wow Sarah...what a wonderful quote...Very encouraging. Thanks for posting it...it's a reminder that I and my family have especially needed lately.

This is a very encouraging quote, Sara-- thanks so much for sharing it. How true it is that we come to know our Savior's love best during times of suffering and loneliness.
This made me think of the hymn "O Love that Wilt Not Let Me Go", which is one of my favorite hymns.
I hope your week is going well.
Love you!
How timely Sara. I have been reading in Kings and Chronicles and noted it kept saying..
and he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD..but not with a perfect heart!
That bothered me. Did right? but NOT with a perfect heart?
Then the post I did about the backslidden brother who has returned to fellowship... he quoted verses about being PERFECT through SUFFERINGS! wow...
my answer..so simple. We can do a lot of right...but to suffer with Christ and take afflictions (not self induced!), trials or ridicule with a heart of love, submission and his good pleasure. We can do right and with a perfect heart.
I believe it goes farther...day to day. As Galatians 2:20 says. To live for him and not self. To put aside the "ME FIRST" syndrome and the complaining and unthankful hearts..in the midst of doing "right".
I love the quote! =D And I like how you changed your background.. =D And I like your picture.. =D
That is great, Sara. I do love Spurgeon.
I wanted to invite you to stop by and take part in my Friday sharing time...come by and share what you are learning from God's Word! I'd love it if you can take part in our Friday sharing group!
That is a beautiful quote! Very encouraging!
Thank you for sharing, Sarah! I loved it! I love your heart for the Lord....keep being faithful!
Hi Sara,
I just wanted to thank you for the encouraging comment you left on my post about waiting on God...it was encouraging to hear from someone who's at the same point in life that I am that I need to trust God and trust my parents. Your heart for God is so challenging and uplifting. Thank you for being such a godly example to other bloggers...including me!

How true. And how very helpful for so many circumstances of life. Thanks be to God that He holds us fast.
O Love that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
that in thine ocean depths
its flow may richer, fuller be.
2
O Light that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to thee;
my heart restores its borrowed ray,
that in they sunshine's blaze
its day may brighter, fairer be.
3
O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow thru the rain,
and feel the promise is not vain,
that morn shall tearless be.
4
O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life's glory dead,
and from the ground there blossoms
red life that shall endless be.
Amen: your This particular entry has inspired and remind me of the Loving Savior in who's work i find Joy.
That is soo good.
